The 2024 Annual Bronze Collective* Theatre Fest is proudly presented by The Rochester Bronze Collective! and is set to unfold from February 19 to March 2, 2024. This grand celebration of the performing arts promises an unforgettable two-week experience. Shows typically grace the stage at 7:30 pm nightly, with matinee Saturday shows at 2 pm, ensuring a schedule that caters to both the night owls and the afternoon enthusiasts.
Pay special attention to the afterschool performance on February 27 at 4 pm, Anansi Tales for the Holidays, a moment of particular significance in the festival's lineup. This unique event promises to add an extra layer of enchantment, creating an experience that resonates beyond the stage.
Venturing into the festival's details, most of the first week's events will unfold at the MuCCC Theater at 142 Atlantic Ave. Here, audiences will be treated to diverse performances that captivate the senses and ignite the imagination. Transitioning seamlessly into the second week, all events will relocate to The Avenue Black Box Theater at 780 Joseph Ave, Rochester, NY. This strategic move ensures a dynamic and varied festival experience, allowing attendees to explore different venues and settings throughout the two-week extravaganza.
Among the curated performances are those presented by local African American producers who take the lead in showcasing variations of African American life through theatrical drama. This unique perspective adds depth to the festival, providing a nuanced exploration of cultural narratives.

*The Bronze Collective is an organization seeking to encourage, facilitate, and promote the collaboration of projects, marketing, and financing among Black/African Diasporic theatrical producers, producing artists, and organizations in the Greater Rochester Area. Starting in 2014, as a way for theater producers to collaborate, The Bronze Collective offers the "Fest" as an outreach tool to reach future Black/African Diaspora producers, artists, volunteers, and audiences.
*The Avenue Blackbox Theatre located in historic Joseph Avenue Neighborhood is black-owned, inclusive, fully-accessible, queer space where social justice and art converge to create dynamic stage productions, installations and live art-making events for and by us. Our primary focus is honoring and uplifting BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ and youth voices, art and issues while promoting collective healing for all. Our collective vision is safe, bold and creative space for vibrant artistic expression, healing & personal development and community wellness. Our mission is to curate moments that elevate the voices, interests and art of the marginalized in this space and beyond. Our work includes collaborative productions with partnering artists and companies in NYC, Oakland, and LA. Community support of productions like Bronze Collective Annual Theatre Festival support our mission of building community that elevate voices from the margins, makes space for their art and real time community transformation.
